This is what's on my Design Wall this Week. Well, it's not really on my wall, it's more on my list to be quilted.
I figured out why I procrastinate quilting a bed-sized quilt. It's because I have to stop everything else I'm doing and devote myself entirely to that project for the duration (which is usually at least a week). It's a test of determination for me. Still, it'll be good for my FMQ challenge because I intend to practice some large ivy designs in the center and some smaller of the same designs on the sashings and borders.
I started this FMQ piece yesterday. Remember I said I wanted to practice some flowers? I forgot that to get to the flowers in this piece, I had to sew some straight lines first. What a disaster!!! Look at those wobbly lines. They didn't look that bad last time I did lines ... Wait, last time I FMQed straight lines I was sewing black on black. Maybe they weren't that straight. Guess I need to practice those lots, too!
For those of you who are interested in FMQ, my friend Joanne and I have a Challenge with a prize. You have just enough time to enter!
I also have a second challenge for anyone who is interested in writing poetry or prose (novice or otherwise).
In other news, I received my proof copy of my Grand Falls photo book. I'm hoping to sell this to several local businesses. Here's a glimpse of what's inside.

Wendy - That is a beauuuutiful photo. Near you too? design wall looks good. Very tired her - nearly nodding at the computer...more tomorrow :)
The string quilt is lovely! And your quilting isn't too wobbly! It looks pretty darn good! Way to go in challenging yourself to improve!
The photo is stunning-that looks like scary-powerful water.
I love that kaleidoscope design...I must make one. I made one from a kit that had the same shapes, but I like them pieced the way you did it.
I'd love to join in the challenge, but no way can I quilt every day. But I will try to quilt more this month before the hot weather comes.
Great motion in that string quilt. Enjoy quilting it.
I love that quilt and - no I don't think your straight lines are wobbly at all - at least I would never have known they were if you hadn't said something!
Re daily quilting - oh my! I am hopeful that I can start tonight! Hopefully!
I love the fabrics and colors of the Kaleidoscope. I need to try this one. Your FMQ is great, flowers aren't as straight as you did it. Don't be so severe with yourself. I love waterfalls and your picture is wonderful.
