Design Wall Monday

Well, I haven’t had any days off between Mondays, so my Design wall looks exactly as it did a week ago.  Fortunately, I DO have today and tomorrow off and will put on the finishing touches and begin quilting this beauty.

We’ve had a major catastrophe in a nearby town.  The warm weather we’ve had recently caused the snow to melt and the river to fill.  Near Perth-Andover, two ice jams blocked the river.  When they let go (both at the same time), the whole town flooded.  People were air-lifted out to safety.  Most were able to grab their pets and maybe one or two things, but, there’s billions of dollars of damage.  The hospital will probably never be rebuilt, the government was looking for a reason to shut it down.  The schools are still full of water, who knows how they’ll come out.  It’s horrible.  At Wal-Mart, we’ve been busy packing relief packages for Red Cross and concerned citizens to aid the victims.  These are a free donation from my store, not the corporation.  The good thing, though, most of these people have family and friends in the area, so very few people are without a place to stay, though many personal belongings are now ruined.  I’ll be sending a couple quilts.

Videos are on YouTube, including this slideshow.

Pray for them.
