Today was pretty much sewing HSTs. I'm making a star border for my big star quilt. I need 200+ of these. I'll trim them all once I finish sewing them.
While I was rooting for the fabs for this in my triangle drawer, I discovered I have TONS of large black triangles left from backgrounds for on-point quilts. So, I picked back up on the Pinwheel Party again. I made the three blocks today to catch up. So far, I've tried to use different patterned fabric in each block, but I've gone through most of the bright stuff already, so I'll probably pick those up again.
I also practiced my FMQ today. Even after one day, I can see a difference from yesterday. I've discovered that sewing a design FMQ takes a slower speed than a meandering stitch. Duh, huh? Yet it somehow didn't occur to me. Anyway, today I concentrated on slowing my speed and making my hands match that. By the end of that session, my feathers actually had a semi-pleasant shape to them. Tomorrow I'll concentrate on spacing. No, I'm not showing you a picture yet. When I get decent, then I'll show you a picture progression. I'm not THAT brave right now!
If anyone wants to sew along for the month, just leave a comment so we can visit your blog and cheer you on!

I am so pleased that you are seeing progress on your FMQ!! Mine wasn't too successful today. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow!
