Well, my guests are gone. What a wonderful time! We laughed, we ate, we wrote, we laughed, we watched movies, we read, we laughed, we ate, we laughed and laughed and laughed. Truly great friends!
I was able to get another chapter to my new mystery story I'm writing. I have yet to see if it will be a novel or just a novella or novellette. One thing's for certain, it won't be the short story I wanted it to be. This one is a straight mystery with the hero as a Game Warden. Deep in the woods of upper Maine, he finds a body. Never in his wildest nightmares could he have guessed where the trail of clues would lead him.
Er, I just wish I knew where it would lead him. Sometimes it's like that when writing. The character grabs you and when you thought you'd zag left, the character has you going right instead. That happened in Chapter Two, when it became apparent that the local cop and my Game Warden hate each other. What's going to happen now is anyone's guess. But it's been fun writing it!
I lost some fabric in my house somewhere. After searching for almost two weeks, I gave up. I know that the quickest way to find something is to go buy more. So, that's what I did. I bought just enough to finish the initial project, knowing I wouldn't mind having extra since it's one of my favorites. Sure enough, the very next day, I was making up the spare beds for our guests and there the missing fabric was, neatly folded inside one of the sheets. TaDaaah! I hate losing things! Oh, did I mention I bought more fabrics while I was shopping?
I also recently found out a good friend of mine is pregnant. Mind you, she IS a good friend, but because of our jobs and time restrictions, we only talk on the phone anymore. Anway, she's pregnant...due in a month. ???!!! I gave her some good natured chaffing over not telling me (I'd heard it from someone else actually), and then started on a baby quilt. It's Winnie-the-Pooh. So that's what's on my Design Wall for the week: finishing it. Her colors are sage, brown and white with a touch of gold and a touch of pink. The baby shower is the 14th. I won't be able to make it there, but maybe I can send along the quilt.
That's about it for me today. Joanne, have a great time in Italy!!! Be safe, but be daring.
Here's a sunset photo to leave you with:

You can NEVER go wrong with Pooh!! Can't wait to see it done!
Pooh is a fav of mine too and the fabrics are so great!! I hate it when I lose fabric to find it and to lose it again after I bought more and the cycle goes on and on my friend.
Thanks!!!! I am now so excited! Now I am turning off my computer for almost 3 weeks!! How will I manage?!
Love the colours of the baby quilt! ♥
Your Winnie the Pooh quilt is so cool! I love what you are doing with the panel blocks!
your friend will love the Pooh quilt!
oh I LOVE pooh...and snoopy. Not in that order! I really like the color combo too. I'm tired of pink and blue. You are a good and true friend! Done the 'lost the fabric' trick..MANY times. Stil hate it!
A quilter and a writer! I'm so glad I visited.... I fully prescribe to "quilt, read, eat, sleep."
Writing, I would be lost without a good pen and some paper!
glen: can't wait till you are published
